Maria Libera Battagliere, an aerospace engineer with a PhD in Space Systems, has been working at the Italian Space Agency (ASI) since 2010. With over twenty years of experience in the space sector, she has held roles of increasing responsibility in the technical and operational management of Earth Observation satellite missions and in initiatives focused on developing satellite-based applications supporting environmental and marine sustainability.
She has collaborated with several major international space agencies (NASA, JAXA, CONAE, ESA) within joint programmes, and has coordinated pilot projects and programs for the enhancement of geospatial satellite data.
She is the Focal Point of ASI’s SpaceandBlue Task Force, a support group to the Agency’s management established to foster synergies between the space and blue economy sectors, encourage the participation of SMEs and startups, and strengthen the role of Regions and aerospace districts in sustainable innovation pathways.
