ntonio Piccirillo is currently a Programme Officer in the Directorate General Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) of the European Commission. As an Officer of the Italian Army he was employed in Italy and in various theatres of operation in commanding roles, in the fields of ICT and information security. At the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Office of the Military Advisor) he dealt mainly with crisis management, critical infrastructure and was staff of the Italian Competent PRS Authority. Since 2019 he has been detached to the European Commission. He deals with the definition and implementation of the security policies of the Space Programme of the European Union, with a focus on the governmental service of the Galileo Programme.
